ABOUT THE COURSE

- A short, fun and friendly course in Brazilian Carnival Drumming for adult beginners and newcomers with our percussion & dance teacher, Mika.
- We'll cover rhythms using a range of drums, including snare and bass drums, hand drums & agogo bells and we'll rotate round so everyone gets the chance to have a go at everything.

- We'll be drumming standing up, but seated options are available if you let us know.
- The course is designed for adults, but teens aged 14+ are welcome to join us, as long as they are with a participating adult.
- You'll be playing with our regular carnival drumming members too, so there'll be lots of friendly support from others.
- The aim is to provide you with the opportunity to enjoy making music and get all those brain and body benefits of drumming!

Please note these sessions are very loud. Ear plugs are available, but the volume level may not be suitable for those sensitive to noise.

- King Street Studios, King St, Newcastle-under-Lyme, ST51EJ (down from the New Vic Theatre). 

- Free on-street parking on King St and surrounding streets.
